The Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime announced today that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has committed passive corruption with Jamarbre Malltezi, his daughter's husband, while he has done concrete actions in law approval and bylaws to adapt to the needs of five owners families, where the beneficiary was directly his son-in-law.

SPAK highlighted in the public announcement that as Prime Minister Sali Berisha carried out active actions in administrative controls to exert pressure and gave concrete orders to end privatization procedures in favor of among others, the husband of his daughter Malltez.

Also, SPAK stated that former Prime Minister Berisha carried out active actions to establish at the disposal of Malltez various structures of state administration for the realization of the privatization process of state property.

Investigations launched in 2020 include actions committed by senior state officials and other persons to privatize the Partizan Sports Complex, where the football club and multi-sports club were.

The investigators suspect the criminal offenses of "passive and active corruption of high state officials in co-operation, as well as the cleaning of the products of criminal activity or criminal activity in cooperation.

Malltezi is suspected of having committed passive corruption in cooperation with his father-in-law Sali Berisha, using his power as prime minister, benefiting from privatization of sports grounds and facilities, changing the destination from sports zone to residential areas, as well as considerable amounts in the quality of investor from the company "Homeplan" sh.p.k., without investing in the latter, benefits received before being declared as a co-affiliate in this society.

While in cooperation with the builder Fatmir Bektashi, Malltezi is suspected of having committed the cleaning of the products of the criminal offense, posing as an investor in the construction works of the housing block, while not appearing to have invested, performing financial transactions, fragmented transactions, or cash, to conceal the origin and illegally profit amounts up to 5 million euros.

On the other hand, Bektashi is suspected of committing active corruption of senior state officials in cooperation with Malltez, giving him illegal profits in large sums, with the common purpose of making constructions on sports grounds. He is suspected that in cooperation with Malltez they have been cleaning the products of the criminal offense while hiding the true origin of The Malltezi's irregular monetary benefits, presenting them as legitimate business income.

Malltezi was arrested last night at Rinas airport, while Berisha and Bektashi are banned from travelling abroad and forced to appear in the judicial police.

The First Instance Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana placed under preventive 16 irregations in Jamarber Malltezi, 6 of his bank accounts and his basic capital quotas in the three companies "Homeplan", "Magnet IMO" and "Magnet Gym & Fit".

Në një konferencë për shtyp, ish-kyeministri Berisha i quajti akuzat ndaj tij si të pabaza dhe të motivuara politikisht.

“Do të qëndroj me të gjithë forcën time. Nuk i druhem arrestimit dhe asgjëje, sepse akuzat janë ngritur pa asnjë bazë dhe janë sulme të mirëfillta politike të Edi Ramës. Ato vijnë pikërisht në çastin që opozita ka nisur lëvizjen pa kthim kundër diktaturës, që po ngre Edi Rama me vjedhjen e votave dhe të pasurive publike”, tha zoti Berisha.

Ai tha se lëvizja e deputetit brenda apo jashtë vendit nuk mund të cënohet pa miratimin e Kuvendit, megjithatë e pranonte sfidën, e cila e motivon edhe më shumë atë dhe ndjekësit e tij, që kanë nisur një lëvizje të re politike.

Zoti Berisha solli një seri detajesh mbi çështjen e privatizimit të kompleksit Partizani, me të cilin sipas tij janë marrë qeveri dhe zyrtarë të lartë më herët.
Kompleksi sportiv me 26 mijë metër katrorë, që deri në atë kohë kishte qenë pronë e ushtrisë, u zëvendësua brenda pak vitesh nga një kompleks pallatesh.
