The Tirana Court has sentenced Arsen Muskurti, who killed his brother and sister-in-law, Drita and Nora Muskurti, to life imprisonment after conflicts between them.
The sentence for defendant Arsen Muskurti will begin on the day of his arrest, August 30, 2022, and will be served in a high-security prison.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced for committing 3 criminal offenses:
"Murder due to family relations", provided for by Article 79/ci of the Penal Code for the murder of his brother, Dritan Muskurti, and based on this provision, his sentence to life imprisonment.
"Murder due to family relations", provided for by Article 79/c of ??the Penal Code, for the murder of citizen Nora Muskurti and based on this provision, his sentence to life imprisonment.
"Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and based on this provision, his sentence was 7 years.
A serious domestic crime shook the capital on the afternoon of August 30, 2022, when Arsen Muskurti entered the "Nour Tours" travel agency and shot and killed his brother and sister-in-law.
According to the Prosecution, when asked about the incident, Arsen Muskurti stated that the ongoing problems with his brother, whom he accused of blackmailing him and his parents for a long time, led him to the murder.
"I have had ongoing problems with Dritan and Nora Muskurti since 2017, because he was a person who did not accept requests for an account and was often threatening towards me. For this reason, I have also filed a report at the police station," stated Arsen Muskurti.
He stated that on the day of the serious incident, he had received a summons from the court, after his brother Dritan Muskurti had requested a protection order from him. The suspected perpetrator claims that he was in court with his brother for a considerable amount of money, where he had requested an expertise of the firm, claiming that they had forged it.
