A married couple in Lezha has been arrested after lying in their testimony during the trial at the Lezha Court for a murder that occurred in 1997.
The man AP, 57 years old, and his wife VP, 53 years old , were placed in handcuffs , who in yesterday's court session gave different testimony compared to their previous statements.
They were testifying in a trial for the 1997 murder in the village of Rrasfik, Mirdita, where the 53-year-old's brother, who gave false testimony, killed his sister and her wife.
He is currently serving a life sentence for premeditated murder and illegal possession of a weapon.

Two citizens (spouses) were arrested after they gave false testimony yesterday during a trial regarding the murder of two citizens in 1997 in Mirdita.
Specialists of the Crime Investigation Section of the Lezha Police Commissariat , as a result of investigative actions carried out under the direction of the Lezha Prosecutor's Office, arrested the following citizens:
VP, 53 years old, and AP, 57 years old, residents of Lezha, spouses, for the criminal offense of " False testimony ".
The arrest of these citizens took place after yesterday, during a court trial at the Lezha Court, they gave testimony that contradicted their previous testimony, regarding the circumstances of the incident that occurred in 1997, in the village of Rrasfik, Mirditë, where citizen Gj. L. (brother of citizen VP), killed his sister and her husband with a firearm, during a conflict for weak motives. The author of this incident is serving a life sentence for the criminal offenses of “ Premeditated murder” and “Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition” .
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Lezha, for further action.
