The Tirana Court has sentenced the young man Axel Hoxhaj to 18 years in prison, who stabbed his peer, Stiven Toshkesi, to death during a physical conflict, an event that occurred in April 2023 in the capital.
The court also found Ensi Maze, Hoxhaj's friend who participated in the fatal conflict, guilty of failing to report the crime, which, as the investigation revealed, had started due to the harassment of a girl.
According to the decision of the Tirana Court, this conflict, although for weak motives, had engaged the two social groups of the defendant and the victim in finding information and location of each other.
Despite their commitment, the meeting at midnight on April 18, 2 years ago, was considered by the court to be coincidental.
In recent years, criminal incidents involving minor and young victims and perpetrators up to the age of 21 have increased, with 41 of them currently convicted and 157 others aged 14 to 21 being detained.
The crimes most often involved are theft, drug distribution, or reckless driving.
