Astrit Hysenaj , 54 years old, is the first victim of bad weather in the country. 

Hysenaj is suspected of being swept away by the current on Tuesday, the day of the massive floods in Durrës.

He worked at the municipal company on the beach and is suspected of having lost his life in the line of duty.

The municipality of Durrës has also reacted to the incident, according to the announcement,  Astrit Hysenaj  showed up for work and left.

Sources told VoxNews that the working hours of the Plazh Municipal Enterprise are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM .

Announcement from the municipality of Durres:

The Municipality of Durres informs that the employee of the Municipal Enterprise Plazh, Mr. Astrit Hysenaj, on 06.01.2026, reported to work normally at 06:00 and performed his duties until around 10:30, at which time he left the work premises.

At around 4:00 PM on the same date, Mr. Hysenaj's family members contacted the person in charge of the Plazh Municipal Enterprise to obtain information, as he had not returned to the apartment.

The company manager informed the family that the employee had left work around 10:30 a.m. The family then notified the State Police.
