Emiriana Sako , the mayor of Durrës, has been sued by the Special Prosecutor's Office by the Democratic Party .

Opposition representatives have filed a complaint with SPAK against the mayor regarding the serious situation the coastal city is going through with the floods.

Sako and other institutions have been charged with the criminal offense of " Abuse of office in collaboration ", provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code.

According to the complaint, which also includes the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Durrës Irrigation and Drainage Directorate , it is suspected that the persons and institutions involved may have misused public funds and other official duties, contributing to the worsening of the flooding situation in the city of Durrës.
