The Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi, clarified today in the Assembly the presence of the DEA in Albania. Responding to the interest of the deputies, he said that it is not about an office, but about a permanent person.
"For the first time, it is not an office, but a person that the DEA has appointed to be permanently in Tirana. Until today we cooperated with the DEA through its office in Athens. As a result of the intensification of cooperation that we have had in the last two years with this office and as a need to be at a synchronized level of cooperation, both the DEA and the State Police agreed to have a person who would be a resident in Albania that would cooperate with the State Police and SPAK" , stated the Minister of the Interior.
Regarding the number made available by this agency, Minister Çuçi stated that this is fully coordinated with the State Police and SPAK.
"As for the number, it is fully coordinated with the State Police and SPAK because the information to go further in an investigative process will be shared with the State Police and SPAK. The presence of a representative is not something to worry about, but it is a sign of cooperation at the highest level", declared the Minister of the Interior.
