The Tirana court orders a prison sentence for 47-year-old Majdiel Husa, who is accused of not reporting to the police the death of his friend, Elton Tahiri, from an overdose.
According to the prosecution, Husa is charged with the criminal offense of actions that prevent the discovery of the truth. The 47-year-old has stated that he and Tahiri met at the Rinas police station on February 1 when they had returned from Germany.
" A friend of Elton's was with us. We waited for each other until we left the police station and the three of us went to my house in Laprakë as I live alone. On the way we bought cocaine and heroin from an acquaintance of mine.
Elton injected too much into his body and became ill. I brought her to my senses for a moment and then we lay down to sleep. When I woke up the next day I went to the bedroom where I only saw Elton still sleeping while his friend had written a letter saying: "Looks like Elton wants to sleep some. I'm going to my family as they are waiting for me and then I'll be back."
I was surprised that Bledari had left Elton alone since he considered him as a brother.
I left the apartment and met a friend. I bought drugs again and went home. I saw that Elton was sleeping and I met a friend of mine and I said to him "when will this guy leave because he blocked my door". I went out again and when I got home I saw that Elton was not breathing.
I kept the body at home for 10 days. I slept from the other room. On the evening of February 12, I rented a car and took Elton's body to Bëxulë.
The next day I saw the news reporting that he was found and I thought "the police will see that he died of an overdose and they won't deal with me ".
