SHOCK Elbasan/ A 50-year-old man is found dead in the waters of the Shkumbin

A dead body has been found in the Shkumbin River by a local fisherman. Police have cordoned off the area and are seeking the help of divers to retrieve the body.

The serious incident occurred this morning not far from the city center of Elbasan, near the Katund i Ri area.

The body was discovered by chance by an amateur fisherman who immediately notified nearby residents and then the authorities.

Immediately after the announcement, numerous police forces arrived at the scene and surrounded the perimeter, prohibiting citizens from entering the area to ensure safety and preserve evidence.

To remove the body from the river, the assistance of the Elbasan divers and fire service was requested, who are in action to enable the removal and transportation of the body to the regional hospital morgue.

It is learned that the body was later removed through a drain, and was identified as a male, around 50 years old, but the identity still remains unclear.
