A tragedy has been recorded in an Albanian family in France, after their 13-year-old daughter fell from the fifth floor of a building and died as a result.
The event took place on Saturday in Ban-Saint-Martin (Moselle), while the identity of the victim is still unknown. The news was confirmed for the French media by the mayor Henri Hasser, who gave details about the event.
"It's a tragedy," said Henri Hasser, at a loss for words to describe it.
The girl was a fourth-grader at College Jean-Bauchez. In an interview with Lorraine Actu, Henri Hasser gave some elements of the teenager's personality.
According to the mayor, the young girl was the eldest of a family of Albanian origin, whose children are all educated in the city.
"Her younger sister is in sixth grade at college and the last two are at Pagnol School together," Hasser adds.
The mayor further describes the victim as a girl "who was the leader of her fourth grade and who was even the one who represented all the college delegates."
"A strong and dynamic child", he adds further. The death of the young girl was a shock to the institution where she was educated. A psychological listening unit has been set up at the Jean-Bauchez college.
On social networks, some parents talked about how difficult it would be for their children to go back to school. "Mom's heart can only console, I can't imagine the horror that the family can experience", wrote the mother of a student yesterday afternoon, one day after the tragedy.
