Accidents in our country most often occur during the morning hours, especially on Tuesdays. This is what the figures of the Institute of Statistics show for this beginning of the year, which has marked a decrease compared to the previous year.

"Referring to the accident data according to the days of the week, it turns out that the highest number of accidents occurred on Tuesday, accounting for 26.2% of the total number of accidents. The highest number of accidents occurred during the time frame 08:00-12:00, constituting 23.8% of the total number of accidents in the month of January 2023", says the INSTAT report.

Only for January 2023, 21.5 fewer accidents were registered. The data show that in January 2023 there were 84 road accidents out of 107 that occurred in January 2022 and 119 people were involved in accidents (killed and injured) out of 147 people involved in accidents from a year ago in the same period.

Referring to the reasons that led to accidents, the data show that in most cases the driver's behavior was the cause. Categorizing them as the most careless, young people are the age group with the highest percentage involved in accidents. The highest number of accidents was committed by the 25-34 age group, accounting for 33.3% of the total number of accidents.

Among the cities with the highest number of accidents is Tirana, followed by Durres and Gjirokastra./ SCAN
