SPAK presents new evidence against former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj , suspected of the criminal offense of "abuse of office" in connection with the "Buka sha" file.

The Special Court gave the defense until July 17 to provide its conclusions on the new investigative actions carried out by prosecutor Elvin Gokaj.

SPAK has charged former government number two Arben Ahmetaj with the criminal offense of "Abuse of office", as he is suspected of causing economic damage to the Albanian state worth 7 billion lek.

The prosecution continues its investigations into the other 7 people involved in this case, representatives of the Ministry of Finance and businessmen.

Arben Ahmetaj was declared wanted in July 2023, after investigations into the incinerators of Elbasan and Fier, where the former number two in the government, resulted in him having benefited from various amounts of money from the owners of the incinerators. 

SPAK declared Ahmetaj wanted for committing 3 criminal offenses, "failure to declare, false declaration and concealment of assets", alone and in collaboration, "Passive corruption of high-ranking state officials or local elected officials" in six cases, "Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".
