The Ministry of Defense has provided an update on the situation of fires in the country, reporting on 12 fires registered from 09:00 to 19:30 on August 26, 2025. Of these, 8 hotbeds have been completely extinguished, 4 continue to be active, while another 1 is under constant monitoring.

One of the most problematic situations occurs in the village of Delisuf, Novoselë administrative unit, Vlora municipality, where a fire has spread over a wide area with pine forest and mixed vegetation. The wind has favored the spread of flames, which have also penetrated the protected forest of Pine-Poro.

Announcement of the Ministry of Defence:

The National Operational Center of Civil Emergencies (QKOEC) at AKMC reports that from 09:00, on 26.08.2025 to 19:30, on 26.08.2025, 12 fires were reported of which 8 were extinguished, 4 are active and 1 is under monitoring.

Yesterday, 25.08.2025, around 15:00, in the village of Delisuf, administrative unit of Novosela, municipality of Vlora, a fire was activated in a forest area with pine and mixed vegetation. The fire favored by the intensity of the wind has taken on a large extension penetrating the forest of Pine-Poro. Despite all the work done by the forces on the ground and the intervention from the air by the helicopters of the Air Force and the United Arab Emirates, the fire remains active. The fire at night has expanded its perimeter in length and width. Today, 3 MZSH vehicles and 20 BMEC officers, 3 vehicles and 40 officers of the Armed Forces, 3 vehicles and 18 officers from MZSH Vlora, 6 forces from AdZM, 23 municipal forces, 10 police forces are engaged in the field. Today, the 2 helicopters of the United Arab Emirates and 2 helicopters of the Air Force operated again. All forces are working to prevent the passage of the fire into the hydrovore channel.

Yesterday, 25.08.2025 around 16:30, in the village of Bogovë, administrative unit of Bogovë, Skrapar municipality, a fire hearth was activated in a hangar where it was then distributed to a pine forest area. Today, the work continued to extinguish the fire with 7 fire trucks with 22 officers from MZSH, Skrapar, Berat, Poliçan, 5 forces from the Forest Service, 35 municipal forces and 30 troops from the Armed Forces. The area covered so far is about 18 ha. As a result of the wind, several small hearths within the main one have been reactivated. There are only two small fireplaces within the burned area with the presence of smoke, there is no danger to apartments.

In the Gërmenj Nature Park, Leskovik administrative unit, the wheel has been reactivated in the vicinity of pyramid 15. During the day, firefighters from MZSH Kolonja were engaged in the field, who worked between pyramids 14 and 15, on the border with Greece. Today, the situation appears more normalized. The area will be monitored by the MZSH Kolonja forces.

In the village of Pezë Helmas, the administrative unit of Peza, fire continues to be active in several hearths in a terrain without passages and with dense vegetation that does not allow the intervention of the fire brigade. There are 4 officers in the field with 1 fire vehicle who are on uninterrupted alert 24 hours, mainly near some apartments that are closer to the area, but far from the fire pit.

Complete isolation and extinguishing of fires has been done in:
