The customs officers of Dijon in France have seized a large quantity of drugs and have handcuffed an Albanian citizen.

The control was carried out on the A31 where they selected a tourist vehicle registered in France and brought it to the area of ​​Villa des Tuilières near the municipality of Alezgey.

The driver of the vehicle presented an Albanian passport to the customs officers and told them that he had come from Lyon and was going to Germany, but when the vehicle was checked, a strong smell of marijuana was coming from the back seat.

Customs officers then dismantled a wall placed between the seat and the trunk and discovered a space where there were 78 heat-sealed bags containing 86.3 kg of marijuana. The value of this drug load is calculated at 388,900 euros.

The driver of the car was tried in an immediate appearance on Monday, January 22. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison. He has also been sentenced to a 10-year ban from French territory and a customs fine of 388,900 euros, the estimated amount of drugs discovered in his vehicle.
