At the Tourism Fair in Madrid, Spain, Prime Minister Edi Rama has assured foreign tourists that Albania is a safe place to go on vacation.

In a conversation with Spanish journalists, the head of the Albanian government said security is one of the aspects that is valued by tourists visiting Albania.

"Based on EU statistics, we are the country with the lowest number of house burglaries in Europe. The champion country is Great Britain. They say because of the fact that Albanians went there, but I'm not sure about that.

Second, we are a country where hospitality is the main religion. In so many years since we emerged from the situation of being the most isolated country in Europe, we were a communist country, but we did not have relations with other communist countries in Europe, and when we emerged we entered a road with transition obstacles. But the fact is that all these years we have come across situations in the past that have been physically harmful to people, but never, ever, no foreign visitor has ever been harmed, no foreign visitor has ever had a safety issue, maybe very few cases. The house of the Albanian belongs to God and friend. Albania is not only beautiful, but quite safe. Safety is one of the most used words by tourists when they come. When tourists who come from Western European capitals are asked what they like about Albania, they say the people, food and security".

At the Tourism Fair in Madrid, the Prime Minister is accompanied by the Minister of Tourism Mirela Kumbaro and several mayors.
