A 45-year-old Albanian man has been identified by the Greek police as the perpetrator of the rape of a woman in Athens last Sunday and another attempted rape.

He is accused of sexually abusing a 34-year-old woman, whom he took at knifepoint from the bus stop where she was waiting and abused her a few meters away.

That same night, he tried to rape another 24-year-old girl, who got into her car. But the young woman found the opportunity to stop in front of a bar and asked for help. The 45-year-old Albanian left. He was identified through DNA traces and a tattoo.

The Greek police have declared the 45-year-old wanted, as they suspect that he entered Albania through the customs of Kakavija around 01:00 in the morning of October 27. This suspicion is raised because it was filmed by security cameras.

According to the Greek media, the 45-year-old was a problematic person as he consumed alcohol and abused his mother. This is what some of their neighbors in Athens have said. Even the Greek police had been notified several times about the violence he used against his mother.

The mother of the Albanian, after the official notification of the Greek police that the 45-year-old is accused of rape, spoke to the Athens media, saying that for her, her son no longer exists.

"He is dead to me. I can't anymore, I feel that he is dead. I don't want it, I'm 70 years old. He took my pension, he drinks alcohol, beer. The police came here, found a hashish cigarette. I don't want such a child", said the mother of the 45-year-old Albanian for the Greek television ERT.

In the meantime, the Greek police continue the search for the arrest of the Albanian, as well as cooperation with the Albanian authorities if he has entered our country.
