President Bajram Begaj has called political parties for consultations regarding the date of the 2027 local elections, but some of them have announced that they will not participate in the meeting.

The Democratic Party has declared that it will not respond to the President's invitation.

The same position has been taken by the parties "Mundësia" and "Albania Becomes", which will also not participate in the consultations, Euronews reports. The "Together Movement" will also not go to the president.

So far, the Socialist Party is the only one that has confirmed participation in the meeting called by the head of state.

According to legal deadlines, President Bajram Begaj must announce the date of the local elections by November 15. Based on the Electoral Code, the 2027 local elections must be held within the period April 15 - May 15.
