OSCE Ambassador to Albania, Michel Tarran, has spoken about the massive student protests taking place in Tirana and other cities, where the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama has been demanded. In this regard, Tarran said that in recent weeks he has seen a lack of dialogue, adding that violence is never a solution.

He emphasized that there are different channels of dialogue, adding that it is important that citizens and young people understand that they have an opportunity to participate in public debate. Finally, he said that democracy is not something that happens only once every four years, but is a daily task and an opportunity that is open to all those who wish to participate in public life.

"What I have seen over the last few weeks, or months, is a lack of dialogue. A lack where people have the impression that their voice is not heard, that their voice, their opinion is not taken into account. And every opportunity where there is an opportunity to organize dialogue, to organize consultations, should be supported and that is why I came today.

There are different channels of dialogue. And the importance is that citizens, and especially young people, understand that they have an opportunity to participate in the public debate.

That democracy is not just about going to the polls once every four years, participating in elections. That democracy is a daily task, it is an opportunity that opens up for all those who wish to participate in public life, in the various decisions where their opinion and that of the people is important.

And I liked the name of this activity, "tell me", exactly, "tell me" exactly, come here and tell me, tell me, what do you think about the different issues that will be discussed during these days, 55 different panels that will be organized. Violence is never a solution", he said.
