To avoid police checks and fines across the country, some people had created a WhatsApp group and alerted each other where checkpoints were set up or where road cameras were positioned.
The group was active for almost two years and a few days ago it was discovered by the Economic and Financial Crime Section of the Tirana Police. Administrators of the group were three young people, two boys from Tirana and one from Fushë-Kruja. They were prosecuted at large for the crime of obstructing the disclosure
of the truth.
After being interrogated, the three boys claimed that the group called "Radari" was opened by them to avoid traffic police radars, as they have a passion for speed.
The number of members of the group increased day by day. When the police tracked him down, there were more than 500 members. Most of them did not know each other. They were from different cities of Albania and in the WhatsApp group they informed about the happenings of all the police services found on the street. The information was detailed, from the radars, the number of forces at the checkpoint or even the mobile checkpoints on the road.
The members had agreed not to send any photos or videos to the group, but only information, for example, "there are radars in Tirana-Durres", or "there are Eagles in Teg".
Although the three young men stated that this was done only to avoid fines, the investigation group suspects that some of the members were moving with illegal items such as drugs or weapons and used the group to avoid checks./ ABCNews
