Scientists warn of a "Super El Nino" at the beginning of winter: It will be the strongest phenomenon since 1950

The "El Nino" phenomenon is expected to peak in late fall or early winter, and has about a 70% chance of becoming the strongest episode recorded since 1950, according to forecasts by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

According to the latest forecast from the US agency, El Nino conditions are rapidly strengthening and the phenomenon could reach record proportions.

Experts estimate that this episode could be even stronger than the so-called "Super El Nino" of 1982-1983.

Scientists warn that the combination of 'El Nino' ??with the effects of global warming could bring even higher temperatures, worsening heat waves and increasing the intensity of some extreme weather phenomena.

Due to the expected strength of this phenomenon, the year 2027 is considered a strong candidate to break the record as the hottest year ever recorded.

However, even 2026 could record record temperatures and potentially break the current record.

What are “El Nino” and “La Nina”?

El Nino is a climate phenomenon associated with the unusual warming of the waters of the Pacific Ocean and can affect temperatures and weather patterns in many parts of the world.

In contrast, La Nina is associated with lower temperatures and represents the opposite phase of this climate cycle.

The periods between El Nino and La Nina are considered neutral phases, during which more typical weather patterns prevail.
