New details have emerged from the crime that occurred in the early hours of this morning in Ksamil, where a 20-year-old Portuguese tourist was stabbed to death.

Top Channel correspondent Entjola Budo reports that the investigative group has questioned the friends of the victim, Luis Miguel Varela Mendes, who have given their testimonies about how the conflict began and the moments leading up to the fatal blow.

According to them, the fight is suspected to have started inside the premises of the bar after a girl was harassed.

The situation then escalated and several people were involved in the conflict.

Security personnel also intervened in an attempt to calm the situation.

At this moment, the 20-year-old Portuguese is suspected of intervening between the people involved in the conflict, with the aim of separating them.

But witnesses have stated that his intervention ended tragically. Varela was stabbed and, despite the intervention, the wounds proved fatal.

"The fight started over the harassment of a girl. Several people were involved in the conflict. Luis Varela stepped in to quell the conflict," the victim's friends are reported to have stated.

Two Turkish citizens, a girl and a boy, who were caught with 29-year-old Sokrat Vata, while allegedly trying to remove him from the scene, were also questioned. In the presence of translators, they gave their version of the relationship with Vata and the moments after the conflict.

According to their testimonies, the two Turkish citizens were regular customers of the "Principotes" bar and had established a social relationship with Vata. They stated that they paid the 29-year-old for security services, such as bodyguards and personal escorts.

Before investigators, they denied any involvement in the criminal incident, claiming that they took Vata in the vehicle only because of the social relationship they had with him.

"We were friends and we accompanied him because of friendship," they are reported to have stated./TCH
