Murder of Portuguese tourist in Ksamil, 12 people arrested (including a police

The number of people arrested in connection with the murder of Portuguese tourist, young Luis Miguel Varela Mendes, by 29-year-old Sokrat Vata in Ksamil has reached 12. 

In addition to the perpetrator and other individuals, officer Moisid Matushaj, 24 years old, resident of Gjirokastra and assistant specialist of Criminal Investigation at the Gjirokastra Local Border Directorate, was also arrested.

According to investigations, Matushaj worked as a bodyguard for the company "Elite Security", together with Sokrat Vata, the perpetrator of the murder.

Matushaj is suspected of helping the 29-year-old flee the scene after the murder of the young man from Portugal.

Meanwhile, the police have declared Bekim Bulica, the owner of the "Principote" bar, wanted.

According to investigations, Bulica is suspected of being the actual owner of the hotel, while documents show that his mother, Kade Bulica, 72 years old, is the owner.

Investigations continue to fully elucidate the circumstances of the murder and the role of each of the people involved.
