Murder of Portuguese tourist in Ksamil – Owner of "Principota", Bekim Bulica, is wanted

Bekim Bulica has been declared wanted by the police after the murder of tourist Luis Miguel Varela Mendes in Ksamil.

Bulica turns out to be the owner of the "Principotes" bar where the serious incident occurred, while authorities are investigating the people connected to the conflict and the circumstances that followed the crime.

29-year-old Sokrat Vata has been arrested for the execution of the Portuguese tourist, who was caught a few hours after the incident on the Levan-Fier road, hidden in the trunk of a vehicle.

Bulica turns out to be the shadow owner of the well-known hotel in Ksamil, while in the documents, the owner is his mother, Kade Bulica, 72 years old.

As part of the investigation, the Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has also detained Moisid Matushaj, an investigation specialist at the Local Directorate of Border and Migration in Gjirokastra. Matushaj also worked as a security guard in the same group as Vata. He is suspected of being involved in the conflict that preceded the murder and of helping the perpetrator flee the scene.

Bekim Bulica's name has been mentioned previously in investigative materials related to international drug trafficking and money laundering. French authorities had previously forwarded to Albanian institutions information about a cocaine distribution network in Paris, to which Bulica's name was linked.
