Members of two tribes were involved in a conflict in the early hours of Thursday morning in Saranda. The incident occurred at around 01:35 in the village of Gjashtë and involved 12 people, including 4 off-duty police officers.

The Police Surveillance Agency announced their arrest this afternoon, along with 2 other people. 

The clash was initially verbal and then escalated to the use of hard objects, including firearms. As a result of this conflict, 2 people were injured. From the investigations so far, it is suspected that the cause of the quarrel between the two families was an unpaid debt.

On 02.01.2025, at around 01:30, the Police Supervision Agency in cooperation with the Saranda Police Commissariat, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda, made it possible to prevent a serious incident, as in the village of Gjashtë of Saranda, in front of a restaurant business, several citizens clashed with sharp objects, where from the verifications and actions carried out, citizens EN and AN were identified, who were injured with sharp objects and are out of danger to their lives.
Police officer AS used and fired his service weapon during the conflict.

Also involved were citizens IN and OB, who clashed with police officers IS, AS, MS and ES, as well as citizens Sh. S., B. Ç., K. Xh., ID, DD and KS.

From the investigative actions carried out by the AMP (examination at the scene, examination of cameras and statements taken) it has arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of “Attempted intentional murder”, “Destruction of property”, “Intentional minor injury”, “Threat”, “Opposition of a public order police officer”.

1. AS, on duty as SPZ at the Himara Police Station (Suspected of the criminal offense of “Attempted intentional murder”)
2. IS, on duty as an agent in the investigation section at the Saranda Police Station
3. MS, student at the Security Academy
4. ES, on duty as an inspector at the Saranda Police Station
Citizens:
1. KS
2. Sh. S.
3. DD
4. KS

Citizens EN and AN were prosecuted at large for the criminal offenses of "Destruction of property" and "Intentional minor injury".

Citizens ID and B. Ç. have been declared wanted for the criminal offenses of "Destruction of property", "Intentional minor injury", "Threat", "Opposition of a public order police officer".

3 pistols, 4 vehicles and 7 mobile phones were seized as material evidence.
