After the closure of the investigations, the Special Prosecution Office has officially forwarded the "Toyota Auris" criminal file for trial.

The defendants are 4 people, the former Chief Prosecutor of Vlora, Aurel Zarka, the former judicial police officer at the former Serious Crimes Prosecutor's Office, Erjona Daupaj, the lawyer Radovan Çela and Astrit Vladi.

They are facing charges of corruption in several cases, as well as exercising illegal influence and leaking investigative secrets.

According to the prosecution, the defendants, in collaboration with each other, requested and accepted bribes to influence judges and prosecutors who were investigating and adjudicating the 3.4 million euro file that was blocked at the Port of Durres, in order to favor the defendants.

SPAK also accuses them of favoring Suel Çela to release assets seized within the framework of Operation Force of Law.

The investigation began based on Sky Ecc databases made available to SPAK by French authorities, where communications on the issues were discovered between the defendants.

During the investigation, a large number of judges and prosecutors, as well as politicians, who were mentioned in communications between the defendants, were questioned, but no evidence was found to indict them.

In conclusion, the lawyers were given a 10-day deadline to present their objections to the indictment and the prosecution then forwarded the file for trial.

The Special Court is now expected to draw lots to determine the preliminary judge who will review the case.
