"Lightning in a clear sky", citizens run to shelters to escape the hailstorm in Tirana (PHOTO)

At noon today, for a few minutes, Tirana was engulfed by a strong rainstorm accompanied by hail.

The downpour has caught the residents of the capital unprepared, after many dry days and scorching temperatures.

As can be seen in the images below, the hailstorms have been of a high intensity and the citizens are running towards the shelters of the streets.
