"They risked their lives to save others", Rama honors the forces
Edi Rama

After a summer that challenged Albania like never before with fires, Prime Minister Edi Rama held today the National Gratitude Ceremony to award medals and rewards to all forces engaged in fire rescue operations.

" In Delvina, flames threatened the old neighborhoods. Army and firefighting forces took every initiative, risking their lives to save the city, a police officer defied death to save the lives of others."

They took in their arms even the elderly who refused. They saved other lives, without worrying about thirst and exhaustion. These are words spoken in the line of fire and among them there are second lives. The chronicle of this summer's fires can continue, 10 thousand forces remain ready.

"Thousands of people in uniform pour their energies into a dedication that goes to the point of selflessness, in the exhausting fight against fires and thousands of hectares of forest wealth are consumed by flames, some anonymous people with zero integrity mock all the sacrifices and trample on interests with all four feet by making decisions in favor of the arsonists, " Rama said.
