Fire in the Poros forest in Vlora extinguished, monitoring for active fires

The situation in the Poros forest appears to have normalized in the early hours of this morning.

It is learned that firefighting forces are on the ground and are working to completely extinguish the fire, as there are still active fires inside the forest, where the burning of logs continues.

Yesterday afternoon, the fire reached large proportions after spreading across a vast forest area, causing significant damage and endangering the rich ecosystem of the protected area.

The fire continued for about two days, with the flames favored by the wind spreading towards Pishe-Poro, while clouds of smoke spread as far as Vlora.

The fire service, the army and civil emergencies were engaged in stopping the spread of the fire.

There was also air intervention, where in addition to two helicopters from the Albanian Air Force, assistance for the emergency situation was also provided by two helicopters from the United Arab Emirates .
