In his speech at the Diaspora Summit, Prime Minister Edi Rama paralleled the success of Albanians in the world, who are known by everyone, to ordinary people, whose stories are often not told.

He narrated the story of an immigrant boy, who, as Rama says, worked hard for his modest dream, but after much fatigue he succeeded.

"While I was thinking about what I was going to say here, I remembered the real story of a boy who was a minor when he fled from a deep area in Greece, crossed the border illegally and worked as a fruit picker and saved every lek he got, as much as he slept in the tree. In the tree of the fields where he worked. And why did he spare them? That he also had a dream, when he had gone there for the first time, he had bathed in warm water in the tub and had a dream to buy it and take it to the village and bathe his father.

And he told me how he managed to collect the money, buy the bathtub and pay for the transport, make the whole journey with the goods near the bathtub so that he was sure that he would reach the destination, then take another truck and when he put the bathtub in home, the whole family was waiting for him, they saw that strange shape and thought the boy was crazy, he installed it, threw away the soaps and put his father in the bathtub. He told me I didn't want him to die without trying to bathe like a human!

How many are these stories and how much has the life changed today for all those who in the 90s left and faced the stamp on their foreheads as unwanted people, but the lesson of all is how much we can do when we are really ready to follow it the dream and understand that if our countries where we have state-making power, have not reached where they should have been today for a long, long time, it has to do with our abilities."
