Lawyer Spartak Ngjela sees the dismissal of the General Director of the State Police, Gladis Nano, as a defect of Prime Minister Edi Rama, after he appointed him to this post.

In an interview for "Euronews Albania", Ngjela stated that Rama should tell the public opinion, the cause and the reason that led to the dismissal of Gladis Nano.

According to Njjela, it has not yet been announced how the percentage of criminality in the country has changed during the 10 months that Gladis Nano was General Director of Police.

"It is a fault of the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister dismissed the Director of Police and does not give the reason to the public opinion, the reason. It cannot be allowed, because he dismissed him, there is no resignation. If he had resigned, he would have given the reason for his resignation. The prime minister does not give reasons, he knows himself as absolute as Enver Hoxha. We are not understanding here.

The departure of the Director of Police is not something serious, because they have been in power for 9 years. Here the question is, how was criminality during his time, declining or rising? They don't speak, they are dumb. What is the percentage of crime during the time Nano was in charge? We don't know this", emphasized the lawyer.

Gladis Nano was dismissed on Wednesday from the post of General Director of Police.

The news was announced by Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi after the government meeting.

For the moment, the duties of the General Director of the Police will be exercised by the Deputy General Director, Tonin Vocaj.
