An Albanian man has been sentenced to prison in the UK after being caught tending to cannabis plants in a grass house.
Agim Cjapi was arrested in Cumbria when police discovered a quantity of drugs worth up to £440,000.
After being taken into custody, Cjapi claimed that he was simply a "gardener" acting on the instructions of a criminal gang, and at the court hearing, he said that he wanted to return to Albania.
However, he was sentenced to 20 months in prison on Friday, his 33rd birthday. For that last detail, he even apologized to the judge.
After handing down her sentence, she told Cjapi: " I'm sorry this hearing had to take place on your birthday. I hope there are more enjoyable birthdays in the future ."
