Rei Meta, who fired a punch causing the death of Armando Meshaut, is sentenced

Rei Meta was sentenced today to 3 years in prison for the murder of builder Armando Meshau, last year in Vlora.

Meta, who fatally shot Meshaun, has been sentenced for "manslaughter" under Article 85, as requested by prosecutor Arjan Xhaferraj, while judge Dorina Stroka gave a sentence of 3 years in prison.

Meshau's family members requested that he be charged with intentional homicide, but this charge was dropped. Present in the courtroom were Rei Meta's lawyers and the author's father.

The conflict between Meta and Meshau started over a signed contract for finding a plot of land in the village of Radhimë where Armando Meshau would build, while the citizen Rei Meta would be rewarded with a 60 m2 apartment and in exchange would give Armando 7,000 euros.

Rei Meta is the son of the member of the High Prosecution Council, Nurihan Meta.
