A protest against the law that recognizes more than one gender, which is expected to be voted on by lawmakers today, is being held in front of Parliament.

Protesters say that this law attacks the traditional family, introducing new, unholy genders that aim to confuse and degrade Albanian youth.

Among those present at the protest was Lindita Pano, the activist wife of pastor Akil Pano.

The Top News journalist asked Ms. Pano about the reaction that EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, had had a few moments earlier, saying that the law is an obligation that Albania must fulfill on its path towards the EU.

But Pano said that this is not true. "It is not true. Nobody forces you. We are a sovereign country that has our own traditions. 21 countries in the European Union do not have this law," Pano said.
