The Korça Prosecution Office has filed charges against 7 defendants in criminal case No. 252, which concerns the serious incident of a gun attack on the "Voloreka" hotel in Pogradec, seriously endangering the lives of dozens of vacationers who were at the hotel on the evening of August 1, 2020, as well as the life of Johan Muçllari himself, the son of the hotel owner.

The event that shocked Pogradec at the height of the tourist season is nearing its judicial conclusion and it is expected that after the conclusions of the defendants' defense lawyers, the court will issue a decision on the guilt or innocence of the persons prosecuted.

Journalist Elton Qyno has learned that the defendants in this case are Meardi Berberi, known in Pogradec by the nickname " Koro ", who is accused by the district prosecutor's office of 5 serious offenses, ranging from " Murder in qualifying circumstances remaining in the attempt" to "Destruction of property ".

Meanwhile, the list of people who have been indicted by the prosecution continues with Anterio Kaloshi, sentenced to life imprisonment and known as Laert Haxhiu's right-hand man.

Defendants in this case include Ilir Meçolli and Mariglen Topozi, a character with an extensive CV in the Korça police file.

More specifically, the Korça prosecution, during the reading of the indictment, requested a guilty plea and a sentence of 25 years in prison for Meardi Berber alias "Koro" for 5 different charges such as "Murder in qualifying circumstances remaining in the attempt", " Unlicensed possession of weapons and ammunition", "Unlicensed possession of cold weapons" and "Destruction of property by other means" .

Meanwhile, the prosecution has requested 15 years in prison for Anterio Kaloshi, who is accused of 4 criminal offenses. For Elvir Haxhia, 24 years in prison have been requested, who is accused of 3 criminal offenses.

22 years of imprisonment were requested for Ilir Meçolli, 3 years of imprisonment for Ardian Xhuti, 3 years of imprisonment for Mariglen Topuzi and 9 years of imprisonment for Ervin Kalana.

According to the investigative file, on August 1, 2020, at around 02:00, two people on a motorcycle arrived at the place called "Hotel Voloreka" and attempted to shoot at citizen Johan Muaçllari and his friends, who were sitting at a table outside the bar.

It has also been proven that on August 8, 2020, at around 04:40 in the place called "Drilon", near the "Voloreka" Hotel, there were gunshots, where there were vehicles damaged by firearms at the scene and gunshots were also fired in the direction of the "Voloreka" Hotel, specifically in the part facing the street, where on the 4th floor of the building it was noticed that a shot was fired in the direction of one of the rooms, where it turns out that citizen Johan Muçllari was staying in this environment.
