President Begaj condemns the threat of weapons to the journalists of "Fiks

The President of the country, Bajram Begaj, has asked the law-enforcement bodies to follow with great responsibility the case of the threat with a weapon and the hostage-taking for several minutes of the team of the show "Fiks Fare", as a case of violation of free speech.

" I learned with regret about the threat of weapons, detention and violence against the filming crew of the show "Fiks Fare", during the performance of their investigative and denunciation mission in the village of Nikël i Krujës.

I express indignation over this serious act of violence against media workers, as well as support the show "Fiks Fare" in its mission, courage and professionalism that it has shown in the public denunciation of corrupt phenomena and phenomena that disturb Albanian society.

I encourage the law enforcement bodies to follow this flagrant case of violation of free speech with high responsibility. The threat to the lives of journalists in the exercise of their duties should not be tolerated in a democratic society ", writes President Bajram Begaj.
