Isar Qallija, a relative of 19-year-old Erjon Xhenje, who was shot dead the day before in Shkodër, has reacted to the serious incident.

In a post on Facebook, Qallija says that Shkodra has been held hostage for years by a war between gangs with political support.

" The gang that has turned that city worse than Palermo and the State Police does not dare to do its job, because these people are protected from above for everything they do ," he says.

According to Qallija, so far only innocent citizens and no gang leaders have been killed in this city.

"In fact, despite the large number of people killed in Shkodër, no gang leader has been killed. "Only innocent citizens, farm workers, sunbed workers, fish sellers, whose bread and butter took them there, were killed," he writes.

Qallija further underlines that the time has come for the citizens of Shkodra to put pressure on the state, to put an end to this war between gangs and not to support the bandits.

He further clarifies that there is no reason to kill a 19-year-old, who was raised by two parents who did only honest work.

"He comes from a simple family, his mother is a teacher, his father worked as a driver, raised bees and did various jobs to support the family with sweat and honor. Calm people, wise and well-spoken. Today I found out that Erjoni worked on one of the farms of people with a criminal record?! Is this the reason to kill a 19-year-old?! We live in Shkodër and we know well who owns the businesses there and how they did it", he concludes.
