The Police Supervision Agency has given details about the wounding of an Egyptian clandestine by a police officer in Morina of Kukës.

AMP says that the incident where the immigrant was injured was accidental, as the police officer during the pursuit, in difficult terrain and in the dark, slipped and fired his gun involuntarily.

On 04.12.2022 at around 11:09 p.m., an employee of the Economic-Financial Crime Sector at DVP Kukës found a Volkswagen van, which was speeding along the Milot - Kukës highway, in the place called "Rubik" and irregularly, creating suspicion.

After notification and verification by the Kukes Command Hall, it turned out that the Volkswagen van with license plate AA 730 VM was rented. Immediately after the verification by the Command Hall, it was communicated with the police services closest to the location of the vehicle, those of the "Shqipoja" Police Patrol who were on duty at the Ura e Drini i Zi and they were asked to stop and control the vehicle. , as it was suspected that it could be with immigrants coming from the Middle East.

After receiving the notification, the "Shqiponja" Police Patrol moved towards the village of Mamas, where the suspected van was last detected, and after a few minutes of movement on the national axis, in the place called Mamas, they detected the van deviating from the road main and enter a secondary road. They continued following the vehicle under the underpass of the village of Mamas-Kukës and after about 100 meters, the driver of the vehicle, K. GJ. In addition, 12 citizens from Middle Eastern countries have been accompanied to DVP Kukës in connection with this event to carry out further investigative actions.

It has been verified and documented that the driver of the vehicle is the citizen K. GJ, 29 years old, who was arrested in the act as a suspect for the criminal offense of "Providing assistance for the illegal passing of headphones" and "Disobeying the Order of a Police Officer Public Order" provided by articles 298/2 and 242 of the Criminal Code.

In the meantime, the police officer, Inspector KB, has been suspended from duty until the end of the investigation into this incident. From the inspection of the scene, 3 GLOK pistol cartridges belonging to the KB police officer's weapon were seized.

At the same time, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of the Judicial District of Kuka, full investigations are being carried out to clarify the legal position of the employees of the police structures involved in the event, and at the end of the investigative actions and conclusions of the Prosecutor's Office, the criminal responsibility of the employees will be determined. the police.
