Residents of the Shushica valley continued their protest this Saturday against the Himara Water Supply Project, which envisages taking water from the Lëpusha spring, where the Shushica River originates.

Representatives from 36 villages in the valley strongly demanded the immediate halt to the works and the removal of machinery from the river area.

Their protest, which has been going on for two years, escalated today with the setting up of a resistance tent by the river, as a physical blockade against the company's machinery.

Their demand remains clear: "Don't touch Shushica! Protect the Wild Vjosa River National Park!"
