Dozens of citizens of the city of Durrës, affected by the floods, are protesting in the main square, calling out against the local municipality and government as the main causes of the situation and the damages they have suffered.

There were also cries of "Down with the government", "Down with the prime minister" or "Durres in the water".

The protesters headed to the municipality building but were stopped by the Municipal Police, physically clashing and being pushed by the officers for several minutes.

They were mainly residents of the former Këneta area, which is even more affected by this situation, and not only that. Along with them were citizens from different neighborhoods, such as Shkozet, Plazhit, and even Sukth.

"In these 30 years, there has never been a flood of this magnitude in the city of Durrës. The beach, Shkozeti, Spitalla, neighborhood 1 were flooded, but who was to blame for Veliera's sinking?" said a citizen.

Also, an outraged citizen expressed criticism of the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama, saying that the entire people are against him.

"That tall guy up there, do you see the people he's against? He's drinking 33 thousand euros worth of wine, so don't drink it! Do you see these people here... May God take them away and may God punish them. Let the rights of these people be taken away ," said the citizen.
