COVID-19 continues to circulate at this time of year, often without symptoms but increasing the need for medical care and evaluation.
Another problem of the season are common viruses, which appear with different symptoms, but doctors say that they are the ones who differentiate between symptoms and different diseases, so it is advisable for every patient to see a doctor.
Pediatrician Sonila Brati, for "Ora News", emphasized that: "Today alone I have visited more than 10 patients, we have only been working for two hours, but in fact what we have seen is that these days the number of viruses has increased and the start of schools, kindergartens and nurseries has increased them, which is expected, because historically September has seen a return of viruses.
But what we are facing these days are very high temperatures in children, sometimes reaching 39 or 40, coughs, upper respiratory tract problems, such as ear or tonsil problems. But there are also problems in adults during this period. But there is an increase in viruses.
"Parents should be careful with their children so that they do not go into a dehydration phase due to their high temperatures. The same applies to coughs and diarrhea," said, among other things, doctor Sonila Brati.
Are we in the conditions of simple viruses, or in the conditions when a covid is circulating in our country?
"In fact, Covid has been circulating throughout the summer, as in the summer we have had children and adults who have come out with positive swabs, however I can say that a virus can sometimes be more severe than a Covid-19, as the temperatures of Covid are 37 or less, while a virus can be much more severe. But I think it is a combination of both, both viruses and Covid.
The viruses have not stopped at all this year, they have started since January and continue to be: We had viruses during the summer in both July and August.
So, we haven't had a seasonal break in viruses, but I think we are in the same situation where there are more and an increase in cases this period, this is evident.
Both last year and this year are among the years where the viruses have not stopped, and I can say this since the Covid-19 period and afterwards, the viruses have become more aggressive, are more prolonged, and have a completely different course.
"If previously viruses were divided into seasons, this thing no longer knows seasons and has no end," said doctor Sonila Brati.
Early diagnosis and increased care are essential, especially for children and the elderly, the two groups most at risk of complications.
Maintaining personal hygiene, monitoring symptoms, and seeking prompt medical attention can help prevent the spread of infections.
