Fire at the Blue Eye

A powerful fire is spreading near the Blue Eye natural monument, seriously endangering this unique gem of Albania.

Over 500 tourists have been evacuated from the area, while only parked cars have been over 100. Only the firefighters of MZSH Finiq are fighting in the field and without aerial intervention, saving the area remains almost impossible.

The Blue Eye, one of the country's most visited destinations, is under the threat of flames and the authorities have raised the alarm for urgent intervention.

A critical situation remains in Finiq, at the entrance to Saranda and in the coastal village of Lukova.
