Prime Minister Edi Rama warns of tougher measures for arson. The head of government has shared footage of an arson incident captured today by Air Force drones, saying it is not only a crime, but also a betrayal of the land and the future of the country's children.

According to the head of government, harsher punishment for arsonists is necessary, as he writes that "in this difficult time of global warming and fires that are challenging all Mediterranean countries in particular, we will have to equate arson with murder in the Criminal Code."

"To intentionally set a fire is not only a crime, but it is a betrayal of our land and the future of our children. Here is the footage of an intentional arson incident recorded today by Air Force drones.

The State Police is on the ground to bring to justice anyone who plays with fire on common property.

The country has been facing dangerous fires for many days, caused by high temperatures but also by man. Just today, the police have arrested three people in Kavaja for intentional arson and one in Fier.
