Journalists' protest in front of the News 24 building

News24 journalists supported by the Journalists Association of Albania protested today at the entrance to the television building with the motto "Democracy dies in darkness"!

The News24 building has been blocked by the State Police since Saturday morning, on the grounds that it belongs to the state and that the television's contract has long expired.

Meanwhile, dozens of journalists, public figures, politicians and activists participated in the protest in solidarity with News24 colleagues.

230 journalists, technical staff and employees of Focus Media News and Panorama Group have not been allowed to enter the premises of News24, BalkanWeb and Panorama for three days now, which are surrounded by State Police and Military Police officers, creating unusual scenes for a media outlet.
