Viktor Përšketa, a witness in the process against Mediu, said that he has been an active Armaments Officer (Ammunition) for 27 years (munitions specialist).

"I was appointed 8 months before the Gërdec tragedy. By order of my superiors, I accompanied a group of officials of the Cubic company, Americans, who were going to make an inventory of the army's properties from north to south. He called me regarding order 20-44, Ilmi Laçaj read the order to me, who had compiled it, as it was work practice. There were debates between Hilmi Laçaj and Dashnor Çaušaj, his superior, regarding point 6 of the order, which was related to transportation costs. They said, the order is requested by the boss, the Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu.

Asked by Mediu's lawyer, why do you refer to the former minister as chief, the witness said that in the jargon of the office, by 'chief or big chief' we meant the Minister of Defense, because we addressed the chief of staff as 'General'. In the same process, Anila Gjergji also testified as a software engineer.

"We had several faxes, but I don't remember the numbers. I made the note, put the protocol number, the date and my signature. Fax no. 622, dated 13/03/2007, sent by the Ministry of Justice to the Ministry of Defense. I didn't make the note with a pen about Shkëlzen, that's how it came. I think it came with the fax, but I don't remember."

The defendant, Fatmir Mediu , intervened with the question:

"Did the minister tell you that you will wait for the fax for Shkëlzen, Sali Berisha, etc. The minister took you on the phone, have you met the minister?"

The witness answers with "No".
