"Investment in Zvërnec, necessary for the economy" - Rama from the PS party: I would also go out to protest if I were a citizen influenced by social networks

On the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party, Prime Minister Edi Rama commented on the protest being held in Tirana over the Zvërnec project. Regarding the latter, Rama said that it is necessary for our country's economy.

As for the protesters, he emphasized that they think alike about the environment.

"The work led to a significant number of people coming out onto the internet channels and taking over Tirana Boulevard in the month of this family's birthday for Albania.

The protest began with righteous anger, but turned into an act of violence and an unjust demand for the cancellation of an investment that will affect the economy and social situation of the country, injecting 4 billion euros into an economy with a volume equal to 1/7 of our country's budget, and twice as much as foreign investments last year.

Even I, if I were a citizen influenced by social media, seeing the blur of half-truths blown up every minute on online channels, and all sorts of photos – dead pelicans, skyscrapers over the lagoon, the Israeli border sign – I would go out to the Boulevard too.

I would also come out seeing the entire world awaken from a nightmare and join together channel by channel to save my country from an investment that is destructive to green life, murderous to humanity.

And without a doubt, as the pardon of an Albanian island and a protected land was announced, this would seem to me like the least that could happen. This job has taught me to put myself in the shoes of another, even in the midst of that crowd, a group of people.

"But the truth is that the difference between me and anyone else is not what it seems from the Boulevard; on the contrary, I also think about resources and means. Since I stepped into my first office in the state as a minister, I have done everything I could against dirt and for cleanliness," he said.
