Fruits and vegetables with dangerous pesticides have been introduced into the Albanian market.

This time Albania is not an exporter, but has allowed strawberries imported from Greece to enter the market.

According to " OraNews ", the presence of residues of the pesticide " Hexythiazox ", which causes toxicity in spider mite larvae, was detected in this quantity that has arrived in our country.

In a request for information addressed to the National Food Authority, it was learned that the importing entity is " Geri shpk ".

In theory, the shipment from Greece has all the accompanying certificates, but the analyses conducted have required that the product be completely removed from the market because it poses a risk to consumers.

"However, AKU inspectors failed to minimize the risk by blocking the strawberries, as the entire imported quantity turned out to be sold. Based on standard procedures, when a product is sent for analysis, it must remain blocked until the analysis results are available. In this specific case, not a single kilogram of strawberries was blocked," sources within the AKU learned.

The scandal of pesticide-laden foods entering or leaving our country has not yet been resolved. Yesterday it was revealed that a shipment of peppers from Albania, again bound for Croatia, had been stopped.

 But even though the "red alert" was issued by the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), there has been no official announcement from the Ministry of Agriculture.

The strawberry case was also made public by the media, while there was no announcement from the relevant authorities.
