GJKKO judge Irena Gjoka is under preliminary investigation by the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime. The news was announced by the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, during his report to the Laws Committee on the activity of the Special Prosecution Office.
Dumani responded to the question of DP MP Gent Strazimiri, who asked SPAK why Irena Gjoka is not being investigated for failing to complete the self-declaration form and for lying.
The head of SPAK emphasized that criminal proceedings were registered against Judge Gjoka in June 2025 and the investigations are in the preliminary phase.
"It is in the preliminary investigation phase and we cannot provide information. We have criminal proceedings registered in June 2025 and we are carrying out the necessary investigative actions," said Altin Dumani.
The opposition has repeatedly accused Irena Gjoka of having a conviction from the Court of Ioannina in Greece in 2005 for forgery and of being dismissed from office in 1996.
But it will be SPAK's investigations and verifications that will reveal whether Judge Irena Gjoka hid the sentence in Greece or whether the opposition's claim is not true.
Irena Gjoka is also the judge of the preliminary investigations against Sali Berisha for the "Partizani" file.
