The Crown Court in Sheffield, Great Britain, has started the trial for the murder of the young Albanian Armend Xhika, an event that occurred in 2021. On Tuesday (January 17), Mentor Selmani, 28, appeared before the court; Marsid Senia, 25 years old, and Mardov Dushku. All three of them were arrested in connection with this event, but declared that they are innocent.

During the session, prosecutor Samuel Green made public very serious details that show that this event could have turned into a tragedy with much more serious consequences. This is because the above-mentioned three persons, together with two others, who have been guarding near the scene, have also been causing the death of several other Albanians. Everything seems to have started after a road accident where two cars collided. Two groups of Albanians were involved in this event.

Prosecutor Green claims that 22-year-old Xhika died after being stabbed with a knife in the incident that happened on the evening of May 13, 2021. One of the friends who accompanied the 22-year-old tried to save the young man and sent him to the hospital, but unfortunately Xhika he couldn't make it.

"After Armend Xhika stood up, he was helped by his friend, Altin Kalemi, and was first taken home and then to a hospital in Sheffield, where he was pronounced dead at 8:37 p.m.," he said.

Further, the prosecutor added that Armend Xhika was taken to the hospital exactly at 20:12.

"In the first contact with the staff, he had suffered a cardiac arrest. They performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR on him and he was taken to the emergency department. "For about 10-15 minutes, resuscitation was stopped and Xhika was pronounced dead at 8:37 p.m. that evening," said Green.

According to the examinations, it turns out that Xhika suffered a knife wound on the left side of the chest with a depth of 10 centimeters. According to the prosecutor, the young man's death was caused by a combination of severe hemorrhage, most likely as a result of an injury to the heart and an out-of-function lung.

Referring to the event, Green said that on the unfortunate evening two groups of Albanians had planned to meet. In one group were the accused, three of whom are suspected to have been equipped with knives, and in the other group was the victim and his friends.

Green claimed that some of the defendants' group carried knives and guns and sent two other members to act as guards. He added that the meeting was decided after Xhika, driving his 'Vauxhall Insignia' type car, crashed into an 'Audi' type car on the road in which there were two Albanians. During the meeting, a member of the group of defendants hit Armend Xhika and after that violence started. According to the prosecutor, most of the fight was filmed on security cameras.

Green stated that the group of defendants followed Xhika's group and attacked them all. As the prosecutor says, the footage of the security cameras shows Xhika, who has been stabbed several times. However, he cannot determine who gave the fatal blow to the Albanian. But the prosecutor says they are responsible for the murder.

In addition to Xhika, 3 friends of the victim, Durim Dervishanji, Mikael Kanachi and Fatson Dushku, were also attacked and injured during the attack. Dervishanji was presented to the hospital with several cuts on his arms and head. Kanachi presented at the hospital with blood on his chest, lacerations to his lungs, a broken rib and two lacerations to the back of his chest consistent with a stabbing. While Fatson Dushku had various stab wounds evident on his back.

After the arrest, Mentor Selmani and Marsid Senia did not comment. However, Senia earlier made a call to the emergency services where she said that everything had happened after an accident and members of the other group had gone there with knives.

Mardov Dushku told the police that he had gone to a meeting to talk about a car accident, but he does not know how the fight broke out. He pointed out that a person made a move towards him so he hit him, but then he ran away and denied having a knife. But the prosecutor stated that the goal of these people was to seriously harm the members of Armend Xhika's group. The British media write that the trial will continue.
