Melisa Trëndafili, the 31-year-old who was burned with fuel by her husband in Korçë, is currently under the care of the doctors of the Burn-Plastic service at QSUNT.

The Minister of Health, Albana Koçiu informs that the doctors of this service are doing the best possible for him.

"The doctors of the Burn-Plastic service at QSUNT are doing the best they can for Melissa, the daughter, the mother of two small children from Korça, who was brutally attacked today by a cowardly "man", who should have been her arms to support her in the growth and education of her children, but today in an insidious manner she decided to return to her aggressor, the mother of his children.

As I encourage the institutions responsible for his arrest and maximum punishment, I am with the family of Melissa. No one should experience such pain.

We will stand against violence and support all those women who become victims of these "men" who deserve maximum punishment. This is a battle that no one can win alone, so together we must work hard and do the impossible, to prevent events like today's ," writes Albana Koçiu.

We recall that the serious incident happened on Saturday afternoon in the southeastern city. 45-year-old Bledar Trëndafili first doused his wife, with whom he was in the process of separation, with gasoline and after setting her on fire, he left the scene.

The 31-year-old received first aid from her neighbors while her husband is still being sought by the police.
