From residential blocks to iconic works, Tirana with modern infrastructure in
Tirana

The work of the Municipality of Tirana in the last eight years has affected the daily life of each of us, not only through schools and major public projects, but above all in the maintenance and improvement of over 100 residential blocks.

In a Tirana that has reached 1 million inhabitants, Tirana has paid increased attention to investments for more paved and well-lit roads, regular sidewalks, for more recreational and recreational spaces, etc.

Skënderbej Square, New Bazaar, Castle, Small Ring, Zog Boulevard 1, New Boulevard, and very soon Great Ring, Italy Square, where the 'Arena Kombëtare' stadium is located, Transformation of PMLAT, Zoo, Olympic Park, and the Park of Farka Lake, have created a completely different reality with iconic spaces.

From a capital with degraded infrastructure in 2015, with roads full of potholes, wells without lids, no signage, no lighting, 49 neighborhoods have been completely retrained in just eight years.

During the eight years, 74 km of roads within the residential blocks have been maintained, while 97% of the city's roads are now lit.

If we compare it with Tirana in 2015, the number of illuminated streets has almost tripled, contributing to a safer city. In addition to saving energy, LED lighting has a much longer lifespan.

These are interventions that have not only affected the center of the urban area, but also the suburbs and rural areas of Tirana. 50 km of new roads were also built - the same as 25 new boulevards. Of them, 20 km only in the city, while an increased attention has been paid to the village, where 30 km have been paved.

During these 8 years, 110,000 interventions were carried out in the maintenance and repair of sidewalks, roads, lighting, and white water sewers. More specifically, 1,900 road segments have been maintained and rehabilitated, which have been equipped with sidewalks, signage and wells. For a long time now, Tirana no longer even knows floods, as the municipality's maintenance teams carry out daily maintenance interventions.
